WiiTube - Wii Youtube Video Client August 19
AlienMind has released a homebrew Youtube video client for the Wii, based on the latest 0.05 release of mPlayer. When setting up the configuration, you can choose to stream each video live, or have the file saved before playback.
From the release notes:
I’ve changed from sources r0n the MPlayer v0.05 to support links to YouTube.
The idea is that you can now add to mplayerwii.conf things like:
# WiiTube - embedded in a video link youtube
youtube_cache = 1 # Will download the flv to SD
Stream = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si_2Kupo13c
Stream = http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p … 07C1AE3241
Stream = http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q … = 1 & PartnerThe first link page of a video, the second is a list of videos and the third is an example with the result of any search. The parser will tour the site looking for references to flv videos and go to mplayer for successive reproduction of videos (one after another).
The switch controls whether youtube_cache is turned completely. Flv to sdcard before play (streaming live is not going too well).
It is an early version and not going too well (I know) but it’s my first Homebrew code for the Wii … and without usbgecko … I hope comments!
