UR5Ocket, Socket interface for Wiimote, now in Linux January 29
The socket interface, UR5Ocket, for communicating with the Wii controller is now available in Linux. It is an interface that enables communication of the Wii controller to almost any application.
At the end of last year we developed and launched our first GPL fully open source project: the UR50cket for the GNU/Linux platform. UR50cket is a socket interface that enables almost any application to communicate with the Nintendo Wiimote.
That’s the first alpha release, which is still very basic but it cames with some features you won’t find in the original (non-GPL) Mac OS version, like the ability of handle more than one wiimote data per session.
A new version should be released in the next few weeks with some great features including nunchuck and IR sensor support. We are also working on a simple Processing implementation for demonstration proposes.
