Wii disc dumper - v1.5.1 by Zapf Bandit, nitrotux & CaitSith2
————————————————————-
This is a Wii-mode disc dumper that dumps to the Wii’s front-SD or to a USB2 drive. A SD gecko is not required at all.
First install ios5.wad (obtained from previous version) using a wad manager, or install waninkoko’s cios 249.
WARNING: Installing WAD files is dangerous and might permanently brick your Wii. Only do this if you know what you are doing.
I take no responsibility if you brick your Wii.
The “wiidump151″ folder should be inside the “apps” directory of the SD card.
Then simply run the boot.dol file and start dumping.
Dump however many parts is required for the Disc type present in drive. There are not very many DL Wii game discs out there.
With an 8G SDHC card or a >8G USB2 FAT formatted drive you should be able to rip Wii games in one go.
If you are using a smaller cards simply copy all the “*.bin” files to the computer then restart wiidumpsdhc, it should then resume from where it left off.
Important!!! Do not move the “*.info” file off the SD card until all parts are dumped.
When you have all the “*.bin” files and the “*.bat” and “*.sh” file on the computer run either the “*.bat” of “*.sh” file and wait until the joining is complete.
This script will check the validity of the parts and the final “*.iso” file.
Make sure the drive you are going to join the iso is *NOT* FAT or FAT32 (e.g. NTFS) or the join will fail.
A big f-you to teq, you suck.
PS If any linux script junkies could make a good joining script I would love to be able to add a generated “*.sh” script.

USB Loader v1.1 Released
Waninkoko has released a new version of his USB Loader which was just released yesterday. This “loader” allows you to store and play back your legal backup collection from a USB Mass Storage device.
What’s New?
* No longer has the bug of the free space (which marked a great wrong in devices), plus show you the size of the games.
* Also added a possible fix for some games that might not work.
* The “date Bug” on Animal Crossing, Wii Sports and other games that use the date has also been fixed

CIOS usb2 rev 3 + loader Released at Tehskeen
Kwiirk has sent Brakken a new version of his CIOS usb2 named “CIOS usb2 rev 3 + usboader” which is meant to be used with Waninkoko’s USB Loader software. The archive contains a new version of his CIOS usb2 installer which allows you to use USB v2.0 devices in your Nintendo Wii and also includes a tool for formatting hard drives in the new WBFS format.
Additionally, the archive contains what seems to be a new backup loader for backup discs. Note - this is NOT required to obtain USB v2.0 speeds in Waninkoko’s USB Loader as it’s already built into the cIOS it uses.

Wii Backup File System (WBFS) for Windows (Beta 3) Released at Elotrolado
Kwiirk has released a port of his Linux based version of WBFS for Windows. It runs under the command line and doesn’t include a GUI, but will let you manage your USB Based device (format, copy, delete) that contains your legal backup collection on it from Windows. This makes for faster transfer times of your backups and such.
What’s New?
* improved the reliability of the usbstorage driver. It now resets the drive if it starts to error.
* implemented libwbfs, a filesystem to store wii backups on an harddrive (see readme in sources for details)
* implemented yal, the most simple usb-loader.
* Two versions are available.
** cios_usb2_install is IOS 202, and does not contain the DIP plugin nor yal.
** cios_usb2_dip_install is IOS 222, and is not distributed on wiibrew.org. Please do not link to it on wiibrew

As promised, WiiGator has released his first build of his GameCube Backup Launcher. He admits to a few bugs being still present, but since the source code is released as well, anyone make make changes to the program.
To use the launcher, first run the included MIOS patcher, which will modify your Wii’s GameCube IOS for use with the loader. Then run the Launcher itself.
From the release notes:
What it does
You can start GameCube backups on Wii. There is no hardware change required. This is only software.
There is only DVD-R directly supported. DVD+R need to be patched to booktype DVD-ROM.
Installation Guide:
Copy directories “miospatcher” and “rungcbackup” to your SD card into the “apps” directory.
If you don’t have a internet connnection with your Wii. You need to copy only one MIOS version to the SD card.
Put SD card into the front slot of your Wii.
Start Homebrew Channel
Run MIOS Patcher and press A (GC controller).
Insert your GameCube disc.
Run GC Backup Launcher and press A to start game (GC controller).
Note: If you want to start a game from the Wii disc channel, you need to enable support for Wii Backup Launcher by pressing in step 5. You can use rebooter from the Wii Backup Launcher to test it.
Compatibility:
Some games are not working.
How it works:
MIOS is patched to allow starting of homebrew. It is also patched to leave DVD-R support enabled.
The rungcbackup.dol copies the gcbackuplauncher to memory and changes to GameCube mode.
gcbackuplauncher patches the DVD read functions, so reading is possible.
System requirements:
IOS249 with backup support need to be installed (e.g. my cIOS r7 from backuplauncher 0.3 gamma).
Additional Information:
If installation fails with error -1017. It will try to delete MIOS and install it after (files are already downloaded at this point). Deletion will only work with a custom IOS249. So if you get error -1017, you need to install IOS249.
Offline Installation:
If your Wii don’t have a internet connection, you can copy the required files on a SD card.
Only one MIOS version is required. All versions are working.

WiiGator, the author of an open source Wii backup loader, has been working on a GameCube loader as well. One of his beta testers has uploaded a video showing a beta build of the loader. Compatibility is looking pretty good, though the disc speed is limited to 3x, as it is for Wii backups.

Watch the Preview on YouTube.
From WiiGator’s Blog Post:
The last days I was working on a loader for GC backups. This is only a preview. The release will be within the next week.
A tester made a video showing it in action. Sorry for the bad quality.
http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=YhheQgAoZbo
Here are some notes:
I tested it with the games I have. All games seem to be fully working. There may be games which are not working.
IOS249 with backup support need to be installed (e.g. my cIOS r7 from backuplauncher 0.3 gamma).
DVD speed is still limited to 3x.
There are sometimes problems with the DVD read speed. So there is sometimes a very short delay in a few games. The game play is only barely influenced. This was only the case for one of my games.
If you eject the disc, no disc can be detected after it. For 2 disc games use the second disc to boot, if you need to change the disc.
You will need to copy MIOS files to a SD card if you don’t have a internet connection (either Version 5 or Version 6, both is working). There are problems with the Nintendo servers in the last time. You may not be able to download it.
