HousePlant has put his NES PC console mod in the B/S/T forums. It is a miniature Windows XP computer put in a NES console case, and supports emulating several classic consoles. Several control inputs are available, such as using your original NES controllers, or syncing Wiimotes via Bluetooth.

You can plug in NES controllers and use them with any game, sync a wiimote(or 15) and use it as a gamepad or pointer mouse along with all the accessories (guitar hero guitar, nunchuck, classic controller, etc…) all very easily. Or just use the good old fashioned keyboard and mouse combo.

It can be hooked up to any TV or Monitor through either D-sub, S-video, or RCA.
The power led, power button, and reset button all work just as they should.

A few new tutorials have been created on the forum lately. Quite a few of these can only be found on our forums.

For more information on creating Wii backups the standard way, the Creating Wii and Gamecube Backups tutorial is still a good read. A Backup Wii Games to SD card tutorial has also been made by tom35, though it requires an SD Gecko.

Tom has also compiled a list of sicknasty413’s Wiimote and Nunchuk LED modifications into a single thread, which is a good place to start when researching those types of mods. Other Wii modification tutorials can be found in either the Wii Case/Hardware Mods section, or in its child forum known as Wii Remote Hacking.

D2Pro has released new firmware updates.
This is not the fix for the new “Un-Moddable” D2C Wii!!!!

New firmware updates released! - 2008.05.07
Firmware v1.3 for 15/19-wire installs as well as the official release of v1.0 for 9-wire installs has been added to the resources section. Fixes include the eject issue, a media detection bug for 15-wire chips and an update issue for 9-wire chips.

Morpheon Mods, following up their Rockstar Themed Wii, have been comissioned to make a “Clerks” themed Wii for none other than Kevin Smith himself.

From the Report:

Floored. Amazed. Excited. Speechless…err..Silent. Those are just a few of the feelings we had when we were commissioned to do custom “Clerks” themed Wii for Kevin Smith’s Christmas Gift!! From what we understand Silent Bob is an avid gamer and this would be his first Wii - No pressure :).

The Wii was painted using flat gray scale colors to match the black and white clerks characters. The stand features the main characters each back-lit with two “stage lights” that beam up to highlight the custom 3D Clerks logo. The opposite side has a specially back-lit logo of his production company. Finally, the controllers were painstakingly hand painted letter by letter to feature his name one controller and his most famous alter ego on the second. As a most respectful nod to his writing, the font was meant to look like one an old typewriter might use.

After seeing some of Morpheon Mods’ other great casemods Rockstar Games contacted the casemodders and commissioned the build of a custom Wii casemod themed after the company itself.

Custom Pain, A laser cut and polished Rockstar emblem and carefully brightness ballanced LEDs make this simple but classy Rockstar casemod that speaks for itself.

We received a few tips about some interesting modded Wii Consoles.

The first, reported by GoNintendo, is the Swarovski Crysal Wii; a custom Legend of Zelda Themed Wii with over 7500 24 Karat Gold Dipped Swarovski Crystals. Created by CrystalIcing.com this Wii isn’t for sale, though they do have a DS Lite that received similar treatment in a Mario them that you can buy for $350.

The second comes from kypes on the AcidMods forums, the Codenamed:UV Wii; a custom Wii with lots of clear case work, paint and LEDs along with some hardware mods such as extra case fans and a 2nd SD card slot, among other things.

The Culmination of Wii case-moding technology. Resident NS staffer SICKdimension sent us this video demonstration of the PulseVU 2 when applied to one of XCM’s cases for the Wii.

We had the opportunity to test a Crystal Blue II-Case from XCM, which is a
complete, high quality replacement shell for the Wii. It has pre-installed LEDs
which light up the DVD drive and rear of the console. The LEDs look great
shining through the translucent case, but how could we make them look even
better?

We connected the LEDs to our PulseVU 2 chip to pulse them with the music/sound
