The D2Pro Team has released a new beta 9 Wire Firmware for the DMS/D2A/D2B/D2C drive chips.
Note this does not fix the new “Un-Moddable” D2C Wiis.

Nintendo has released their product previewing channel, known creatively as the Nintendo Channel. Over at WiiBrew, it has been confirmed that this channel has no effect on the Twilight Hack or the Homebrew Channel.
New Wii Channel launched, Nintendo Channel. By the looks of it, does NOT harm the TP-Hack or Homebrew Channel in any way.

Firmware v1.3 for 15/19-wire installs as well as the official release of v1.0 for 9-wire installs has been added to the resources section. Fixes include the eject issue, a media detection bug for 15-wire chips and an update issue for 9-wire chips.

The D2CKey Team is reporting that they have dumped the new “Un-Moddable” D2C Chip
New d2c chip in the wild, dumped by d2ckey team - 2008-05-05
We received the first drive with the new d2c chip on yesterday and we can confirm that is indeed different. We have dumped the firmware and are just starting to analyze it. It seems that nr reader mode has been disabled in this firmware (see nice screenshot of firmware disassembly).
WiiNewz is reporting that The D2Ckey Team have confirmed exclusively to WiiNewz that they have been successful in cracking in the new D2C chip. Expect a new 9-wire mod solution soon.

xiaNaix has posted a Front Page News Article on WiiNewz regarding Certain D2C Wiis recently hitting the market in the US being un-moddable at this time.
Many experienced and trusted modders have posted in the thread with confirmation of some Wii’s not reading backups using any of the D2C Modchips.
According to the long thread, the D2Pro Team has been sent one of these un-moddable Wii’s and are investigating the issue.
Un-Moddable Wii’s In The Wild
Wii’s sold in North America the last week with LU567xxxx serial numbers will not work with any of the D2C chips, including the original versions and the new 9wire clones now showing up. The console internals look the same (same drive board, same D2C markings on the chip) but, after installing a mod, backups will still not boot. It is possible that Nintendo has made some major changes to these new systems so, if you can get older D2C models, it’s best to get them now!

The D2Pro Team has released the official 9 Wire D2Pro.
We are pleased to announce that the new 9-wire d2pro chip has now been officially released. This chip comes with an integrated SPI Flash and takes only 9 wires (including power) to install. Like it’s 15-wire predecessor, this chip is fully updateable (JTAG and SPI Flash) via the d2prog USB programmer which is available separately. Configuration options include separate drivespeed settings for DVD5/DVD9 backups and original discs, region override, and GC audiofix.

WASABUS 1.2 FINAL RELEASE
WASABUS 1.2 final version is out… this 9 wires firmware version is tested and is working on all D2C consoles.
We are working now to do porting on ARGON and it will be available in few days, after this works we will complete the WASABUS with the support of old DMS WII support.
