MrDictionary has recently released Lemmings DS! v7 Alpha. This is the latest release in open source LemProject for the DS; a Lemmings clone.
From the release notes:
I’ve done a whole load more stuff to Lemmings… alternative ways of doing stuff that should be more R4 friendly: copy everything in here to the root of your card (don’t forget to patch it, too), and see what happens. (New version! Works on R4! Possibly! Really this time!)
Yeah, it still takes half a minute to start up and to begin a level. (Enumerating levels and stuff)
I took out all the .xms except one to speed things up a bit. If you want to put them back, use the xm’s from the rar in the post below.
The final version of this will boot and load levels instantly. (It’s debugging stuff that slows it down.)
There are only a couple of test levels in this version to test traps and hazards. Levels made with LemmingsDSBuilder -will not work- on this version. This version is just to test these levels for now.
Thanks to Dave2 for putting up with a barrage of nds tests! :D

A Version 3 of the homebrew game AmplituDS has been released for the DS. From the release notes:
I didn’t forget about my Nintendo DS projects. The last couple of months I had been working on AmplituDS again to give it a well-polished look and feel. I’m proud to announce AmplituDS v3. which also includes more stages and DLDI support amongst other things.
A quick shout-out to Violation Entertainment for creating a really professional 3D ship model to put in AmplituDS and to slap on the boxart.
And that’s not the only thing that’s new, as you can see. A friend of mine, retrohead, created this all-new website for me to post information on my projects. Currently I have three main Nintendo DS projects: AmplituDS, Project S.A.N.T.A. and RTS4DS. And I have a sideproject: a 3D model conversion and a 3D model viewer program for Nintendo DS. Also newly released now and up for download. You might want to check out what they’re all about. If you’d like to talk about any of them, feel free to hit the message board which is now expanded to include talk for more than only AmplituDS.
Oh, and a big thanks to the people who helped in making AmplituDS v3 a reality… be it via content, suggestions, advice, testing or support in general.
So run off to the projects and/or downloads pages to get the new AmplituDS release and the model tools release.
In the words of Commander Kahn: “AmplituDS is gooooo!!!”
For those unfamiliar with AmplituDS it is a music and rythm game similar to Amplitude for the Playstation 2.
