Forum Rules:
These should be considered the general rules for the Nintendo-scene.com forums. Other forums may have more, different, or specific rules, so be sure to check. Before posting, make sure to read through these. We go to great lengths to try and ensure that these are brief and clear.

It is your responsibility as a member here to know and follow these rules. We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to ignorance regarding rules. Rules can and will change when needed, so check back often.

In addition to this document, some additional documents may/will contain specific important information:

Account Names:

Make sure, when choosing your user name, that you like it a lot. We will not change it for you later, should you decide you don’t like it. If you make a new account, then we will ban both accounts. Understand: NO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS. Think long-term when you choose your name.

Please keep account names to 20 Characters or less. If we find an account with a username longer than 20 characters, we will change it.

Email Addresses: Make sure to use a valid, frequently checked email. If we change your username, we’ll email you. We may send out periodic updates, which could contain some good info for you.

Passwords: Use a complex password. Simple passwords are easy to crack. Use something that combines UPPER and lower case letters, numbers, and some symbol. Example: Nintendo$cene (don’t use this one). It contains an upper case letter, the “$” symbol, and is rather long. Keep your account and your personal information secure.

Protect your username and password. In the even your account has be come problematic, it will be banned. The “someone else was using it” excuse won’t work.

Account Name Limitations/Restrictions:

  • 20 Characters or less
  • No swearing
  • No Racism/Racist Remarks
  • Avoid mimicking another users name for the purpose of pissing someone off.

Avatars:

Please, keep avatars to 65px x 65px in size or less. They can be animated (animated .gif only), but do not include any swearing, slanderous remarks, nude or pornographic material in the animations. Do not add antagonistic material designed to piss off other members, or staff of this site. Any avatar seen as being in bad taste, or clearly designed to be offensive will be removed. The Staff, and the staff alone, determines what is in bad taste.

Avatar Limitations/Restrictions:

  • Keep it under 65 x 65 in size
  • .gif only
  • No Antagonistic/slanderous material
  • No nudes or pornographic material

Signatures:

As with the Avatars, keep signatures small, do not include any swearing, slanderous remarks. Also, do not included reference or links, direct or indirect to the following.. Piracy/warez files or sites, Xbox XDK/Sony SDK produced files, Nude or Pornographic images. Absolutely, no referral scam links, and no requests whatsoever for donations.

Signatures have the following limitations/restrictions:

  • Max 4 lines of text (as viewed on an 800×600 display)
  • No LARGE fonts
  • Max 1 image (gif/jpeg/png)
  • Maximum signature image size 140h x 450w
  • No offending/illegal images or text allowed
  • No referral URLs of any kind
  • No requests for donations ever!
  • No Racism/Racist Remarks
  • No Slanderous/Antagonistic remarks
  • No swearing!
  • No links, direct or indirect to Piracy/Warez sites or files.
  • No links, direct or indirect to Nude Pictures, or other pornographic materials
  • No Links, direct or indirect to Game Roms‚ĶPERIOD

* Note: Signature Rules Exception for Staff
Staff are not subject to the signature rules.

Making Posts/Threads/Topics on these forums:

Before you consider making a post in ANY forum on Nintendo-Scene.com, review the Pinned/Sticky Topics at the top of the forum you are interested in. We will keep answers to frequently asked questions there. Chances are, anything you might want to ask, has already been asked and answered there. If not, do a search. If you make a post that has been done many times before, staff will close it, merge it with others, or delete it.

Don’t be rude. Use the language you would in front of your grandmother. If your grandmother swears like a sailor, well, don’t do that here. Be polite, even if you disagree. Staff will close/remove topics or posts clearly intending to flame or antagonize other members. Members who continually exhibit this behavior will be banned.

Do not make any posts, threads, or signatures designed to be antagonistic towards members or staff on this site. These posts/threads will be removed.

Do not make any posts threads, or signatures about Paypal Scams, Raffles, Pyramid Schemes, or click through advertising. These will be removed and you will receive a suspension or permanent ban.

Do not directly or indirectly post links to sites that contain piracy/warez. This includes, but is not limited to, ROMs, backup games, pirated games, shared music, movies, etc.
Also, no posting of pornographic movies or images.
Post this crap, expect a ban.

Expect posts that are posted in the wrong forum to either get moved to the correct forum or to be deleted. We’ll do the same to topics that are posted multiple times in the same forum (server problems) or across multiple forums (SPAMMING).

If you see a topic or post that is in clear violation of the rules (including SPAM bots), please use the “Report to moderator” function in the lower right corner of each post. Or send a PM to any online staffer.

Anyone choosing to abuse this site for anything illegal or otherwise clearly against the rules, whether in the forums or via the PM function, should expect to have their account and, in the event of multiple account creation, their IP banned.

Posts/Topics have the following limitation/restrictions:

  • No swearing!
  • No antagonistic posts/threads designed to attack members or staff or to generally start flame wars
  • No Racism/Racist Remarks
  • No links, direct or indirect to Xbox XDK or Sony SDK produced files.
  • No links, direct or indirect to Piracy/Warez sites or files.
  • No links, direct or indirect to Nude Pictures, or other pornographic materials
  • No Links, direct or indirect to Game Roms (don‚Äôt waste our time telling us you have a right to it.. or you own the original, etc)

Things that will get you BANNED…

  • Racism/Racist Remarks (we have no use for ignorant inbred morons)
  • Links, direct or indirect to Nude Pictures, or other pornographic materials.
  • Links, direct or indirect to Piracy/Warez sites or files.
  • Links, direct or indirect to Game Roms (don‚Äôt waste our time telling us you have a right to it.. or you own the original, etc)
  • Abuse of the “karma” system
  • Misrepresentations of the “Feedback” system (ie fraudulent positive feedback or adding excessive bad feedback simply to get revenge)

Note: If you have been Banned, Do not bother contacting staff, moderators, or admin. Bans are permanent and non-negotiable. Rule of thumb, don’t get into trouble and you won’t have a problem.

The Karma System

We have a system by which members can leave instant feedback for members. It’s called “Karma“. 1up is a positive. Use this if someone is helpful, funny, a general good guy, whatever. Any time a member does something you find helpful. TKO is a negative. If someone flames you, thwack them. If they post some form of misinformation, or are generally rude…TKO! Do not abuse the Karma system. Don’t leave rediculous amounts of positive or negative karma just to be a turd. Abuse of the Karma system will result in a suspension or ban.

Member Feedback

When you view a member’s profile, at the bottom of the page you’ll see the SMF Trader System, aka feedback. This proves especially helpful for B/S/T users, installers, and other service providers. Leave feedback after every transaction is completed. Remind the other party to do so. This helps limit the number of scammers and people getting scammed. Consistent, appropriate use of this system will prove very beneficial, especially for game traders!

Do not abuse the feedback system. Don’t leave fraudulent feedback, positive or negative. Abuse of the feedback system will get you banned.

Specific Issues Resulting in a Ban

Anti-Moderator/Anti-Admin/Anti-Website Posts etc: Antagonizing or disparaging staff will result an immediate ban. We’re here because we want to be, not because we have to be.

Spam – Commercial, promotional, or just plain dumb and moronic spam on the forums will get deleted or moved to the Garbage Bin. We are not here to help you get members for your site. Period. SPAM the site, expect a ban right away. We’ll also censor your site, so any attempt to post it will be altered.

Torrents: Do not post them, and do not post Links or Urls to Torrents Link Sites. We treat them as direct and indirect links to warez. Post torrents or sites, earn a ban.

“Free Speech”: We feel obligated to add this. This is not a democracy. You chose to be here. We want you here. But, you can leave at any time. We reserve the right to censor and limit what people say here. If you want free speech, take a Civil Liberties class.

Problems with staff: Forward them directly to ADMIN. Don’t take it public, or you’re gone.

Post Counts: Some forums add to it (technical forums). Others don’t (B/S/T, for example). Posting isn’t a contest to see who gets the highest number. High post counts do not normally indicate a person’s level of genius…merely the amount of time they have to spend on the NET.

“Wink Wink…PM me”: Don’t do this. We get it. We’ll fill in the blanks, and assume it isn’t allowed.
